Hi All,

I have switched to Ubuntu after a number of bugs on CentOS and am wondering if Ubuntu 18.04 is even supported.

After adding the following to my bareos.list file it will not download any packages:

deb http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04/ /

***@backup02:/etc/apt/sources.list.d# apt-get update
Hit:1 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic InRelease
Ign:2 http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 InRelease
Get:3 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-security InRelease [83.2 kB]
Get:4 http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 Release [1,016 B]
Get:5 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu bionic-updates InRelease [88.7 kB]
Get:6 http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 Release.gpg [827 B]
Ign:6 http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 Release.gpg
Reading package lists... Done
W: GPG error: http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY F93C028C093BFBA2
E: The repository 'http://download.bareos.org/bareos/release/17.2/xUbuntu_16.04 Release' is not signed.
N: Updating from such a repository can't be done securely, and is therefore disabled by default.
N: See apt-secure(8) manpage for repository creation and user configuration details.

apt-get install bareos bareos-database-mysql
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
E: Unable to locate package bareos
E: Unable to locate package bareos-database-mysql

Is there a step by step guide for installing on Ubuntu 17 or 18?

It is not pulling in any packages.

Cheers

You may want to try this approach as described in the post (sorry - only in German)

https://schroeffu.ch/2018/05/workaround-bareos-backup-server-client-unter-ubuntu-18-04/

Helped me to do the Ubuntu upgrade on all machines.

Best regards
